Chris Elvidge
Chris Elvidge leads the nighttime lights lab at the NOAA National Geophysical Data Center in Boulder, Colorado. Elvidge received a Ph.D. in Applied Earth Sciences in 1985 from Stanford University. From 1985-87 he was a NRC post-doctoral fellow at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He was on the Biological Sciences Center faculty of the Desert Research Institute in Reno, Nevada from 1988-94. In 1991-93 he was a visiting scientist in the Global Change Research Program at EPA HQ. The nighttime lights lab is currently producing a time series of annual global nighttime lights products for use in a variety of applications.
